Park trail O7 climbs from the village to the sanctuary through the woods: it is the pilgrims' route. You can walk back or arrange to be picked up.
From Alvito a mountain road climbs about 24 km to the Forca d'Acero pass (1,538 m), on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo and a gateway to the Park. From here you can walk in the beech woods or take trail P1 towards San Donato Val di Comino.
One of the Park's signature peaks, on the border of Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise. The quietest ascent starts from the Canneto Valley, through beech woods and grassy ridges. With a little luck you will meet chamois.
Within the Park the Park Authority's rules apply: some trails have limited access or require a guide at certain times of year. Our Destination Manager can put you in touch with licensed hiking guides.

A pilgrim route to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Canneto, officially launched by the Diocese of Sora-Cassino-Aquino-Pontecorvo. It is walked mainly in August, but the valley is beautiful in every season.
